Nancy Pelosi Legit Ripped Up Trump’s State of the Union Speech in Front of Him

Last night, President Donald Trump gave his State of the Union Address, and the vibes between him and Nancy Pelosi were...let’s say...chilly.

Things were tense between Trump and Pelosi from the beginning, when he handed her a printed copy of his speech and she reached out to shake his hand only to have him turn his back. Pelosi ended up shrugging off the moment and raising her eyebrows. But then, as the New York Times reports, she got a little shady with Trump in her introduction, choosing to say “members of Congress, the president of the United States” instead of the ⁣customary “I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States.”

But the real moment came at the end, when Pelosi legit ripped her speech in half behind Trump’s back:

When asked why she tore up the transcript, Pelosi said it was “the courteous thing to do considering the alternative.” She also tweeted, “Democrats will never stop extending the hand of friendship to get the job done #ForThePeople. We will work to find common ground where we can but will stand our ground where we cannot. #SOTU”
