NAACP to host Woman of the Year event

May 1—The High Point NAACP will host the Exceptional Women Who Make a Difference Mother's Day Tea and Woman of Year Coronation on Saturday, May 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Golden Doors Event Center, 2025 Brentwood St., High Point.

Honorees are Petula T. Sellars, Mrs. Tomakio Gause, the Rev. Kia Scott-Hood and Karly Hairston. The guest speaker will be Angie Williams-McMichael.

Attire is tea party fashionable (optional), with hats, gloves and pearls. Featured will be the crowning of the Woman of the Year, who will represent the local NAACP for 2024-25. The NAACP asks that you buy tickets by Wednesday, May 8.
