The Must-See Fashion Moments from the 2024 SAG Awards

From archival McQueen to a cerulean moment.

Somehow, it's still awards season. Not that we're complaining! With the Oscars race in full force, celebrities are taking a break (?) from the pressure of the Academy Awards to focus on what really matters: the second most telling event of the year, where actors vote for their peers in both movie and TV categories. On February 24 2024, stars will descend on the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which promise glitz, glam, and more Barbie versus Oppenheimer (both films have five nominations).

Before the festivities get underway, it's time for the arguable best part of the evening: seeing what fashion (and beauty!) looks celebrities are turning out. Presenters Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are expected to gather for a Devil Wears Prada reunion, so you know these outfits will count—for Miranda Priestly's sake, at the very least. Greta Lee

This season's red carpet darling, Greta Lee paired her pale blue, off-the-shoulder gown by The Row (styled by Byrdie fave Danielle Goldberg) with leather opera gloves.

Elizabeth Debicki

Elizabeth Debicki absolutely stunned in a baby blue custom Armani Privé gown. The sparkly, intricate beading, the slinky, backless shape, the icy hue—it's all too good to be true. The Crown actress has officially cemented her fashion-girl status.

Maddie Ziegler

Maddie Ziegler worked with stylist Jared Ellner to choose a truly legendary vintage piece (sourced from Shrimpton Couture): The archival 2003 Alexander McQueen dress is made of sheer beige chiffon with an asymmetrical silhouette and tons of shreds to achieve a really beautiful texture. According to Shrimpton Couture, the dress Ziegler wore is a "little sister" of the original Oyster dress from McQueen's Irere collection. (Kim Kardashian gave the same gown a go for an Oscars after party in 2020).

Ayo Edibiri

Gingham on the red carpet? Genuinely groundbreaking. Nominated twice for her role The Bear, the red carpet darling wore a Luar (FW23 RTW) billowy black-and-white patterned dress and Gianvito Rossi shoes for the evening.

Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan's golden custom Armani Privé satin gown is sculptural, shiny, and every bit awe-inspiring (topped off with Fred Leighton jewelry). We want to bathe in it! Shockingly, the gown was a last minute switch-up due to a wardrobe malfunction. Could have fooled us.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph

Following up a season of colorful red carpet looks, Da’Vine Joy Randolph kept things simple for the SAGs—as far as her gown’s hue was concerned. The nominee chose a gorgeous gathered cream satin gown (custom Valdrin Shahiti) decorated with an array of florals at her shoulders.

Anne Hathaway

Arriving ahead of a mini reunion with her The Devil Wears Prada castmates, Anne Hathaway wore a gown Miranda Priestly would surely approve of: a belted archival Versace (SS15 Couture) piece in that forever-quotable shade of blue. Actually, it's cerulean.

Ariana Greenblatt

Okay slay! Ariana Greenblatt chose a custom Vera Wang gown for her first SAG awards, featuring a deep, burgundy velvet that took a lot of back and forth to get right. “I’m giving Award Season Barbie, kind of holiday barbie. The color is giving holiday barbie,” noted the actress.

Margot Robbie

In honor of her second-to-last awards show honoring Barbie, Margot Robbie wore a black Schiaparelli couture gown with a pink sash-turned-train.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox always delivers. For the SAGs, the red carpet host pulled from the Alexander McQueen archives (FW 96!) for a cropped, black-and-gold embroidered jacket and floor-length velvet skirt—with a sheer top and peek-a-boo bralette to boot. To complete the look, she chose a statement choker necklace made entirely of shimmering black beads, as one does.

Emma Stone

A zoom in on every tiny detail here, please. Emma Stone’s custom backless silver Louis Vuitton dress was studded with pearls, beads, and many more glittery, beautiful things. The touch of lilac brought out the color of her eyeshadow and the halter top and skinny straps added a delicate '90s touch.

America Ferrera

Say it with me: Custom. Dior. Taking balletcore to the red carpet, the Barbie star wore a belted black off-the-shoulder gown with delicate, sheer organza sleeves.

Selena Gomez

Stylist Erin Walsh outfitted Selena Gomez in a form-fitting, white custom Atelier Versace gown for major Supers energy. Chic and classic, the dress came complete with the brand's classic metallic details on the tiny spaghetti straps.

Brie Larson

"It’s something we’ve been talking about for a while,” Brie Larson says of her custom Versace gown (and Irene Neuwirth jewelry), noting the sweeping two-piece look was inspired by a photo she once saw of Claudia Schiffer.

Quinta Brunson

If you remember anything from tonight’s award show, let it be Saint Laurent and Quinta Brunson teaming up for this elegant LBD. The plunging, form-fitting dress features a flowy back panel to add edge and interest to an otherwise classic silhouette.

Joey King

While her glam is all '90s, Joey King opted for a look from Givenchy's Spring 2024 collection. It features an orchid-print nude skirt with a mesh overlay. Sheer black opera gloves and Pomellato jewelry completed the look.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody

Couples who red carpet together, stay together (or they better, because we can't help but stan these two aughts icons together forever). Leighton Meester (outfitted in a brown St. John gown) and Adam Brody (in a black suit) kept things simple and beautiful on the SAG awards red carpet.

Kathryn Hahn

“I’m telling the story of trying to pronounce Givenchy,” joked Kathryn Hahn on the red carpet. Even if she can’t pronounce it, the Tiny Beautiful Things actor can certainly wear it well. The flowy, cream-colored gown and black rosette wrap, paired with the trend of the night—and season, nay, year—sheer black opera gloves. A major, beautiful thing.

Fran Drescher

Madame president! SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher was a lady in red for her guild's big event. She chose a floor-length and full-sleeved gown covered in red sequins, red nails, ruby jewelry, and red lipstick to tie it all together.

Emily Blunt

A presenter and nominee, Emily Blunt stepped out in Louis Vuitton for the evening, pairing the fire-engine red gown with gold cuff bracelets and a statement necklace.

Penelope Cruz

The ever-glamorous Penelope Cruz selected her gown from the Chanel runway for one very good reason: "I love it," she said on the red carpet. We love a glittery bodice and a full skirt.

Kat Graham

Showing out in true award show Hollywood glamour, Graham wears a shimmery black gown with a deep sweetheart neckline and gathered train. And the real draw? Her gold Schiaparelli earrings, which added a fun, surrealist twist to the classic look.

Zuri Hall

Peach fuzz, you can see yourself out: It's teal's time to shine. For her latest red carpet ensemble, Zuri Hall chose a green-blue, off-the-shoulder satin gown (with some cape vibes, in a good way). The silhouette is very much giving mermaid.

Keltie Knight

In case you haven't heard, bows are in. Keltie Knight took ribboncore to to the max with a strapless Saiid Kobeisy gown with a gigantic black bow on the bodice as well as tiny tulle beaded bows across the entire piece.
