Rag & Bone taps Robert Geller as head menswear designer
Rag & Bone has hired Robert Geller as its head menswear designer; his first collection for the brand will be for Fall 2024 and will be shown in New York, Chicago and Paris. Geller worked for Marc Jacobs and Cloak before launching his own collection in 2007 and a denim collection in 2015. For his first collection, Geller told WWD he is focused on "the fit and overall silhouette. We have integrated the ready-to-wear collection with our Pursuit sportswear, while bringing a more fashionable side to the denim in a way that satisfies all of men's wardrobing needs, celebrating comfort." {WWD/paywalled}

How struggling beauty brands can recover
Closures, bankruptcies and layoffs are plaguing the beauty industry, with some brands are struggling to navigate the current economic climate. For example, Morphe's parent company Forma Brands went bankrupt in January 2023 and skin-care brand Matter of Fact laid off five employees (40% of its workforce) just before the holidays. To find success in the beauty market, experts recommend building lean teams, expanding on retention marketing and remaining focused on product differentiation rather than low prices. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
