Paco Rabanne's Julien Dossena to guest-design Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture
Julien Dossena, the creative director of Paco Rabanne, will be the fifth guest designer to create a couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier. Both brands are owned by Puig. "What stands out about Julien is his personality. He is brilliant, generous, creative," Gaultier told Vogue. And the admiration is mutual. "What I've always loved about Jean Paul's approach is his constant curiosity, his way of exploring different registers and tastes," says Dossena of Gaultier. Bottega Veneta is re-staging its fall show in Beijing
Bottega Veneta is set to stage a repeat of its Fall 2023 collection (first shown in Milan) in Beijing on July 20. However, the show will also feature new looks, building upon Bottega Veneta's brand presence in China. This all comes while the Italian luxury house attempts to gain favor in the Asian market; recent efforts include returning to the Chinese social media platform Weibo, inviting K-Pop stars like BTSRM to attend shows and launching projects like taking over the Great Wall to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year. {WWD}

Crocs maintains post-pandemic popularity
During the pandemic, Crocs enjoyed a surge in popularity thanks to the shoe's easy-to-slip-on nature. However, as regular activities resume, the craze for crocs remains strong. While stock prices for other pandemic winners like Peloton, Etsy and Zoom have all dropped, Crocs' stocks have increased by a whopping 167% since January 2020, writes Jordyn Holman. The brand owes its longevity to a consistent stream of new products, effective marketing and celebrities sporting the shoes at award shows. {The New York Times}

However, as the trend wanes, there could still be long-term ramifications. Various beauty industry insiders shared their thoughts with Robin Mosley at Beauty Independent. Danielle Gronich, CEO of Clearstem Skincare, thinks "de-influencing" is comparable to misinformation trends, and customers will no longer know who to trust. Meanwhile, Osmaan Shah, CEO of Formulate, thinks that "de-influencing" fosters critical thinking and transparency between influencers and audiences. {Beauty Independent}
