Forma Brands lays off 23 employees
Forma Brands, the company that owns Morphe, has reportedly laid off 23 employees spanning multiple departments such as social media, creative, marketing, influencer relations and communications. Layoffs were effective immediately after employees were informed on Oct. 16, and the company is now outsourcing some work to agencies, according to Glossy. In the past four to five months, the company has hired 21 positions, but the decision to eliminate some roles was made to "make the business more agile and responsive to changes in influencer marketing, social media platforms and consumer trends," Glossy reported. "We remain focused on executing our growth strategy, which includes diversifying our product mix into adjacent categories with a pipeline of innovative and relevant products supported by a full 360-degree marketing investment," Simon Cowell, president of Forma Brands, told Glossy. {Glossy}
