Dao-Yi Chow named creative director of New Era Cap
New Era Cap has tapped Dao-Yi Chow as its creative director and vice president. Chow will oversee the design of the brand's first namesake apparel line Brand New Era, as well as merchandising and marketing. Chow has previously served as creative director for Sean John and co-creative director at DKNY; he also co-founded Public School with Maxwell Osborne, which won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and the Woolmark Prize. {Fashionista inbox}

Model Alliance plans Fashion Workers Act rally at the Met
The Model Alliance is planning to hold a rally on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Sunday to bring attention to the Fashion Workers Act. This bill would regulate management agencies in New York by providing models more workplace protections. Sara Ziff, the Model Alliance's founder, will be joined by fellow models Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, Kaja Sokola and Kenny Salel among others at the rally. Representatives from the Screen Actors Guild, the Writers Guild and the Condé Nast union are also expected to support. {WWD/paywalled}

Costume Institute reportedly scrapped a John Galliano exhibit
Andrew Bolton and Anna Wintour intended to dedicate this year's Costume Institute exhibit to designer John Galliano, The Cut's Chantal Fernandez reports, but the Metropolitan Museum's leadership feared public backlash, leading to the decision to honor delicate archival pieces through "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." (The Galliano exhibit is reportedly on "indefinite pause.") Bolton's exhibitions were once major affairs with record-breaking attendance, but as Fernandez writes, "the playbook at the Costume Institute seems stuck in time and its shows are no longer blockbusters." Rosie Huntington-Whiteley steps down from Rose Inc
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley announced on Instagram Friday that she is stepping down from Rose Inc, the beauty brand she founded in 2018. Owner Amyris Inc declared bankruptcy in August 2023, which led to Rose Inc's assets being sold to the highest bidder at auction and placing the brand under new ownership. "Authenticity and integrity are paramount to me in any business endeavor on which I embark and therefore, it is time for me to close this chapter and pursue new adventures," Huntington-Whiteley wrote. {Instagram}
