Anitta covers the June/July "Freedom" issue of Harper's BazaarPhotographed by Emmanuel Sanchez Monsalve, the Brazilian pop artist discussed what it was like growing up in Brazil, her religion, how the 2018 election of far-right president Jair Bolsonaro influenced her to learn about politics and more. "When we are born into the type of reality that I was in my country, we don't get the motivation to understand politics," Anitta told Julianne Escobedo Shepherd. "So we vote not knowing s**t about it, not knowing whatever the f**k we are doing. And that's what [politicians] want, because then it's easier to play with us." {Fashionista inbox}

Brands are thinking about smart mirrors... again
The rise and fall of smart mirrors was quick, but the technology  is getting a second look from fashion companies, Vogue Business reports, with many interested in using augmented reality (AR) to overlay products and new environments over the user. Nike has been testing out the idea in its Brooklyn store, while Coach rolled out digital bags in an AR mirror early May. "With AR mirrors, the user flow is much closer to what we will be getting in the future with AR glasses or MR [mixed reality] glasses," Maxim Raykhrud, the chief product officer at AR fashion company Zero10, told Maghan McDowell. "You walk in front and—bam!—you see yourself wearing AR stuff. They are another leap toward that goal because they offer a portal-like experience." {Vogue Business/paywalled}
