Thanks to The CW's recent pilot orders, Riverdale fans have a lot to look forward to.

According to E! News, The CW has ordered a pilot of a Riverdale spin-off called Katy Keene. And, that's not all. The show, which also just so happens to focus on four unforgettable characters from Archie Comics, will be a musical.

Lead character Katy Keene is described as a "fashion legend-to-be," per E! News, with the show pitched as "a musical dramedy chronicling the struggles of artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway, and in the recording studio." Think The Bold Type meets Project Runway with a hint of Riverdale thrown in for good measure.

While only a pilot of the show is being made at present, the track record of Riverdale's creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, speaks for itself. Taking to social media to reveal the news this week, Aguirre-Sacasa wrote, "The #Riverdale universe expands! Thrilled to be bringing the adventures of Katy Keene and her New York pals to life! Extra-thrilled to be doing this with my pal Michael Grassi":

According to Cosmopolitan, Riverdale fans have already pointed out just how much like Katy Perry the lead character Katy Keene looks:

However, there are no details regarding casting as yet. But if Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale are anything to go by, then we're likely to see the perfect mix of brand new talent and classic '90s heartthrobs, which is simply delightful.
