Who is Murray Bauman from "Stranger Things" Season 3?
Stranger Things fans have been falling in love with some of the new characters that joined this new season, including the new girl at Scoops Ahoy, the sweet Russian scientist, and the smart girl from camp. But some old characters have come back and proven themselves this season as they help our favorites battle whoever is trying to take over Hawkins. That included Murray Bauman, Hopper's old friend who should be familiar to viewers from last season.

What is Murray's story?
Murray first appeared in the second season of Stranger Things, when he appears in Hopper's office to try to get help after coming up with the conclusion that Russian's were behind Barb's disappearance. After Nancy and Jonathan discover that he was actually hired by Barb's parents, he works with them to break the news of what really happened to her.
In season 3, Hopper decides to bring Alexei over to Bauman, who now lives in Illinois, since he knows that he speaks Russian. He helps translate Alexei's instructions on how to close the portal and the special keys. They soon start to bond over conspiracies and Alexei's wish to become an American citizen after it's all over.
Once they are all back in Hawkins, Murray and Alexei head over to the carnival and they decide to split up. After winning a Woody Woodpecker, Alexei heads back to meet up with Murray, but gets killed along the way. He ends up looking for Joyce and Hopper and warning them about the Russian killer.
In the team's final mission, he ends up crawling through the vents of the Russian base to try to find a way to let Hopper and Joyce in to close the portal. After Joyce closes the portal, he shows up to help her escape and is shown to be distraught over Hopper's death.
What's next for Murray?
Murray was one of the few characters that wasn't seen after the final time jump. There's a good chance that he went back to Illinois after the Battle of Starcourt. He is probably afraid that the Russians will be coming after him. Murray will also likely be looking into what the Russians were trying to do with the portal and the Mind Flayer outside of Hawkins. Who knows? Maybe he's a key to some of the theories around Hopper's fate.
Who plays him?
Comedian and actor Brett Gelman might be known for his role as Murray on Stranger Things, but it's not his first major acting job. He's also had starring roles in Another Period and Fleabag. He's also had a number of small roles on hit shows like The Office, Fresh Off the Boat, Mad Men, and Twin Peaks.
