Long gone are the days when, if you said you wanted a "Mountain Dew" it meant one thing. But in 2022 it seems we can't go a week without a new Mtn Dew flavor or two, and this week is no exception.

To recap: In March, Mtn Dew announced they were bringing an exclusive flavor to Buffalo Wild Wings: Mtn Dew Legend. Then, in early May came word Circle K was also getting an exclusive flavor: Mtn Dew Purple Thunder. Later that month, Mtn Dew announced that Mtn Dew Typhoon would get an online-only re-release after 11 years in the vault… followed just a few days later with news that Mtn Dew would be opening their own temporary outpost where fans could sample six more unreleased flavors. June began at an equally torrid pace, with the announcement that not only was Mtn Dew Baja Blast returning to bottles (in both its regular and zero sugar versions) but that three Baja Blast spinoffs were also getting released: Mtn Dew Baja Mango Gem, Mtn Dew Baja Gold, and Mtn Dew Energy Baja Blast. (And keep in mind, Hard Mtn Dew Baja Blast was announced back in January!)

Clearly, Mtn Dew doesn't have any flavors left in the tank, right? How dare you! Today, Mtn Dew — which I'm starting to believe may be an Old English term for the pagan god of flavors — has just announced another partnership for another exclusive new variety: The convenience store chain Casey's is getting the soda brand's latest concoction: Mtn Dew Overdrive.

Launching this month, Mtn Dew Overdrive is described as a "long-term offering, which packs a refreshing citrus punch taste with hints of mango, raspberry and lime flavors." This "perfect blend of light and juicy fruit flavors that will keep fans feeling refreshed and recharged for any outdoor activity" will be sold both as a fountain soda and in 20-ounce bottles.

Finally, hammering home the partnership, the Overdrive label will feature imagery that pays homage to Casey's, including "a rooster weathervane necklace and barn-shaped buoy highlighting Casey's founding year," as well as other hidden items that fans are encouraged to share on social media.

"As the third largest convenience retailer and fifth largest pizza chain in the U.S., we're always looking for the most flavorful products to pair with our handmade pizza," stated Tom Brennan, Casey's Chief Merchandising Officer, "and Mtn Dew knows a thing or two about flavor."

In fact, the only thing Mtn Dew doesn't seem to know about flavor is how to stop making new ones.
