For Massimo Giorgetti, the biography of Emily Dickinson reminds him somewhat of today. “She spent her entire life locked in her house, she did only one trip and during that she fell in love. Apart from that, everything she experienced was platonic,” said Giorgetti, comparing Dickinson’s isolation with our forced confinement caused by the pandemic.
The designer chose one her poems, titled “Dawn,” that he rendered on different garments, spanning from a T-shirt layered under organza shirts and dresses and jacquard knits paired with curved-leg jeans.

Wanting to convey a sense of straightforward wearability, Giorgetti focused on uncomplicated designs, updating MSGM’s contemporary aesthetic with a polished, grown-up touch.
Giorgetti’s passion for British culture echoed in a range of plaid styles, including a blanket-inspired fringed coat, as well as in argyle sweaters made feminine via cutouts, bow details and draping. Bouclé in a neon green was used for a workwear-inspired shirt jacket and extremely soft eco leather was used for minidresses and flared pants.
Minimal sartorial suits were juxtaposed with plissé skirts, blouses and body-hugging jersey tops, all splashed with floral patterns. These also appeared on a pretty dress featuring a crisscross at the bodice.
Telegraphing a message of hope, but also responding to a request coming from international buyers, especially in the Far East, Giorgetti also delivered some evening styles, such as young and fun skater dresses and tops in a jersey fabric embellished with micro crystals.
