As They Mourn Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Family Is Now Accepting Public Condolences—Here's How to Send Yours

People around the world have felt great solemnity in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death. The United Kingdom's longest-reigning monarch passed away on September 8, and mourners across the nation have sent their condolences to the royal family in the days since. If you haven't had the chance to pay your respects and wish to do so, you now have an opportunity to pass along your well wishes through official royal channels.

Buckingham Palace launched a form on its website that allows members of the public to give their condolences to the late Queen—the link is also available on the Royal Family's official Twitter account. "A selection of messages will be passed onto members of the Royal Family, and may be held in the Royal Archives for posterity," the website states. All you need to do is include your name, email, location, and whatever message you wish to share.

The opportunity to send a heartfelt message to the royal family following the historic sovereign's death is an especially nice sentiment for those who won't be able to attend Queen Elizabeth's state funeral, which is slated for September 19, according to a report by CNN.

Many royals will be in attendance during the solemn event, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, the newly named Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as Prince Harry. In addition to the Queen's grandchildren, her son, the newly appointed King Charles III, will also be present. King Charles assumed the throne immediately following his mother's passing, alongside his wife, Queen Consort Camila, formerly titled the Duchess of Cornwall.

"The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family," King Charles wrote in a press release. "We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved mother. I know her loss will be felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world."
