Mountain Biker Rides The World's Most Challenging Ski Race Course

The Streif, located in Kitzbühel, Austria, is widely considered to be one of the hardest—if not the hardest—alpine ski race courses in the world.

As you might expect, the committing descent is designed explicitly for skiers. However, that didn't stop professional street trial and mountain bike rider Fabio Wibmer from giving it a spin in THE STREIF - Fabio Wibmer.

Notably, Wibmer isn't the first mountain biker to give The Streif a spin. Max Stöckl has also tackled the formidable slope, albeit with less drama and airtime.

The descent likely had some sentimental value for Wibmer, who grew up an hour away from Kitzbühel, according to Bikerumor! Although his antics haven't been restrained to just Austria—the man is a globetrotting viral video machine, crushing committing courses worldwide.

Wibmer, or his producer, also injected a nod to ski racing fans with this video. At the start of THE STREIF, Wibmer rides a gondola emblazoned with the name "Daron Rahlves," one of only two American ski racers who have won on the course. The Streif victors have their names written on the Hahnenkammbahn cable cars.

While Wibmer mostly sticks to what he knows—pavement, grass, and dirt—this wasn't his first time taking his bike onto the snow. In Fabiolous Escape 2, he blasted down the slopes of Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria.
