The 2023 Motorola Razr is an elegant little device. Eschewing a glass back in favor of a vegan leather, it will likely have a lot of people wondering what it even is when folded closed. Its metal sides, dual-camera bump and small external screen may clue people into it being a phone, but it’s a subtle and compact device you can easily tuck into your pocket.
Folding it open, you get a very different experience. The phone offers an impressive 6.9-inch display with a bright plastic OLED (pOLED) panel that’s both sharp and smooth, even offering a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset that may not be as fast as the flagship phones of this year and may not be the ideal choice for hardcore mobile gamers, but it’s plenty peppy for everyday use.
