FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) – The West Virginia legend, Mothman is making his mark in Fayetteville. The ‘Mothmanor’ is a Mothman themed AirBnB and escape room located in the heart of Fayette County.

If you are from West Virginia, or love a good urban legend, then you know the name Mothman.

The Point Pleasant legend is making his way to Fayetteville, where a brand new, one-of-a-kind experience is about to open.

Pictures of different West Virginia cryptids and Mothman are plastered on the walls of this AirBnB.

Nate Adams, Co-Creator of Mothmanor, said staying here feels like you are in another world.

“But it’s also very immersive so you feel like you are someplace else when you’re in this place. It has a very dark aesthetic. It’s meant to be slightly creepy but also a lot of fun and irreverent,” said Adams.

Clues are hidden all around the home to help you solve the puzzle.

If you go down the staircase, you can relax in the ‘MothManCave.’

Those who book a stay at ‘Mothmanor’ have the option to complete the included escape room.

Rachel Adkins, Creator of Mothmanor, said her background in graphic design helped this idea come to life.

“It’s a linear process from going through each step of the escape room plus all of the items that I have created that have a period feel. So, they feel like they came from 1967. A lot of the art is inspired from a lot of creative ideas, adding things onto thrift store finds or playing up different things and being really creative visually,” said Adkins to 59News.

Adams and Adkins said a lot of work has been put into this place and they hope to attract visitors from all over the country.

They also have two more Airbnbs in the area that are wizard and game themed.

The Airbnb will open Thursday, May 16th.
