Mother is looking to the ’80s for its latest capsule collection.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles-based premium denim brand released a new collection inspired by David Bowie’s 1983 Serious Moonlight Tour—in support of his bestselling, Grammy-nominated album “Let’s Dance”—which sold out every arena and stadium it played and “cemented” Bowie’s status as a “global” superstar, according to Mother.

The collection builds on Mother’s first Bowie tribute released this past spring which paid homage to Ziggy Stardust, the late musician’s alien rockstar alter ego and stage persona in the early ’70s.

“Bowie was the ultimate master at transformation,” said Tim Kaeding, creative director and co-founder of Mother. “Evolving between eras and personas, Bowie never lost his allure.”

Like the first line, the eight-piece capsule features Bowie’s concert-poster imagery and album artwork.

Notable pieces in the collection include the Bruiser denim jacket with studded star and moon motifs and the Rambler zip ankle jeans in a classic blue wash. The jeans also have “Bowie” written across the back in silver studs. A denim Western shirt features orange tour graphics.

“The 1980s were a testament to his artistic evolution and relentless pursuit of reinvention,” Kaeding said about Bowie. “With this second and final collection, we transformed along with him, shedding the glam era in favor of a more toned-down image that felt closer to classic showmanship. It was fascinating to alter our perspective and the lens through which we designed and how we channeled his spirit all while still being Bowie.”

Additionally, Mother released its bestselling Rowdy T-shirt in a long-sleeve version with an illustration of Bowie’s 1983 Canadian leg of the tour and The Cut Wingman T-shirt featuring a German tour poster.

The Mother x David Bowie collection retails for $115-$495 and is available now in stores globally and on Mother’s website.
