These Are the Most Romantic Restaurants in America, According to OpenTable

Whether you're ringing in Valentine's Day with your gals, pals, or lover, time is ticking. OpenTable is back with another restaurant list, rounding up the "100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America for 2023," and it might offer the nudge you need to start planning your special night out.

OpenTable compiled the guide by analyzing millions of reviews of restaurants that US diners say deliver on romance. The list spans over 27 states, with California being the destination with the most romantic hotspots.

Family-owned and local seafood-driven restaurant Mama's Fish House based in Hawaii came out on top with the highest number of nearly five-star reviews. The charming restaurant, home to a tropical not-so-secret garden oasis and menu items like Macadamia nut-crusted mahi-mahi baked with lobster, boasts a whopping 39,627 reviews. In 2018, the ocean-facing restaurant owned by Doris and Floyd Christenson became a semifinalist for the James Beard Awards.

An OpenTable diner shared in a review of Mama's Fish House, "Don't pass up the black pearl mousse for dessert. Mama's is a must for every visit to Maui. Happy anniversary to us!" And with such praising ratings, the highly in-demand restaurant is completely booked for the next few months.

In a press release, OpenTable said, "Last year, more than half (54%) of Valentine's Day reservations were booked by Feb. 7 – but diners seeking a table at one of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants should plan to book even earlier: in the past, the restaurants on this list booked up by Feb. 1."
