The Most Popular Home Decor Style in the Country

While the most-searched style varied by state, the top style overall (it won 12 states in total!) was industrial. Surprisingly, this style wasn't specific to any one region, but was the top search term everywhere from Alaska to Louisiana to Wyoming. Characterized by open layouts, metallic finishes, and exposed brick, industrial decor tends to be most popular in urban areas, and is clearly taking over cities across the country.

The second runner-up? Vintage decor was the top style in six states, including Connecticut, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. With thrifted finds and timeless furniture choices, vintage decor nods to the past, while making it modern.

The Most Unique Decor Styles

Some styles proved themselves to be regionally-specific, such as Victorian decor, which was the top search only in Maine. And no surprise here, Hollywood Regency only won over California, the state where star-studded style reigns. Traditional style appears to be less popular in 2019 (it won in three states in 2017), with the look only winning over South Dakota this year. While industrial decor seems to be trending across much of the country right now, these state-specific looks are pockets of unique style.
