Hosting a wedding at Oheka Castle has certainly gotten the celebrity seal of approval in recent years, as stars including Kevin Jonas, Joey Fatone, Peta Murgatroyd, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have gotten hitched here. And, as many Swifties may know, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” music video was filmed, in part, at Oheka, so you might as well take some inspiration from her when choosing which parts of the mansion (and the Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.-designed gardens!) you want as a backdrop for your wedding photos! The Mount—which is situated on nearly 50 acres of lush greenery—will undoubtedly make for a stunning backdrop for your wedding. And we’re sure its former owner, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Edith Wharton, would approve! Wharton has a special place in our design-loving hearts, too, because, in addition to writing novels, she also penned one of the first books on interior design: the seminal The Decoration of Houses, which is still a resource for designers today.
