Buzz off! These DEET-free 'mosquito sticks' keep bugs away for just $14 per 12-pack

Ready for summer? Me, too. I can't wait to hit the beach, picnic at the park, hang out at the pool, barbecue...I could go on. Of course, with all those fun activities also come pesky bugs and their venomous bites. But we don't have to suffer with sticky bug spray, thanks to Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Sticks. These DEET-free incense sticks (no sprays! no creams!) are made with essential oils that are natural bug repellents and you can get them at Amazon for just $14 for 12.

Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Sticks are made with three repellent essential oils — citronella, lemongrass, and rosemary — that are blended with sawdust to create incense. The high concentration of the oils (10% by weight) makes the sticks incredibly effective. And, since the scents smell nice on their own, the combination is a light, sweet-smelling refresher to any environment.

And customers who live in hot, humid areas say these really work.

"During Arizona's monsoon season my mornings on the patio drinking coffee had become bite city," reported one of 10,000 rave reviewers. "I started lighting one of these sticks before the coffee was ready and they did help a lot. I had fewer to no bites needing to be alcohol swabbed when I went back into the house."

One package of incense comes with 12 sticks, each with a burning period of 2 to 2.5 hours. The brand recommends that the sticks be placed close to wherever you’re sitting or standing outside, then dispersed throughout the perimeter of the deck or yard.

"We are pleasantly surprised that this product actually works!" wrote another five-star fan. "Usually I get bitten within five minutes of being out in our backyard in Texas, and today we were able to have breakfast on the patio with no bites! Wonderful product."

One of the biggest selling points for the incense fans was the natural components of the product, which they say didn’t leave strong chemical smells.

"The smell is great, not chemically or potent. Very light and clean," shared another satisfied customer. "They last forever but as soon as they burn out the bugs, mosquitos, yellow jackets, etc. all come back almost instantly. It's almost like it puts a deflective force field around you temporarily. Totally works 100% recommend. Great product!!"

And, you don’t have to worry about finding the perfect incense holder — the same brand that makes the mosquito sticks sells ceramic stick holders crafted for safety.
