Mortal Kombat has re-entered the fight.

Karl Urban, who plays hot-shot Hollywood actor Johnny Cage in the video game adaptation, posted a behind-the-scenes image showing the film’s actors lined up outside of a production trailer.

If you look closer, you’ll see the trailer belongs to Jax Briggs, a cybernetically enhanced super soldier played by Mehcad Brooks.

He’s returning for this sequel to the 2021 film, alongside Ludi Lin as the great Earthrealm warrior Liu Kang.

Urban’s no stranger to mega entertainment franchises, appearing in Marvel, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings universes.

Mortal Kombat isn’t even his first video game adaptation, having played a soldier in 2005’s Doom.
