‘The Morning Show’ Season 4 Is Confirmed (For Now)

The Morning Show has twists. It has corporate takeovers. It has the biggest names in film and television. But does The Morning Show have a season 4? The third season of the Apple TV+ series premiered in September of 2023. Is there more to come? Let's see.
Who knew that a show about morning news would take the place of The Good Wife and The Newsroom in one?! It's soapy in the best way. It deals with real issues in the best way. And I'm still blown away by the cast. It stars not just Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon but Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Julianna Margulies, and. in season 3. Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie.
So is The Morning Show renewed for season 4?
Apparently so! Variety reported in late April of 2023 that, yes, Apple TV+ renewed The Morning Show for season 4. The news came, obviously, ahead of the season 3 premiere. However, the news about The Morning Show's renewal also came ahead of both the WGA strike and the SAG strike. Hopefully that doesn't mean the season 4 announcement was premature, but there are a lot of uncertainties in the television industry at the moment. Personally, I think that as long as Aniston and Witherspoon, who produce the show as well as star in it, want to make The Morning Show, it'll continue.
What would season 4 be about?
Who knows, at this point! Season 3 jumped from 2020 to 2022, and given that the fictional world of the show often mirrors real life events, such as the #MeToo movement in broadcast journalism and the Covid-19 pandemic, I wouldn't be surprised if the show tried to cover a presidential election in more detail than previous seasons. Do I want more shows dramatizing the most traumatic years of my adult life? Not necessarily! Maybe they'll even do a season about the writer's strike. That would be interesting, and a rich well for drama! Other than that, and when it comes to the more personal and relationship drama on the show, it's going to depend on how season 3 ends. You really never know with this show.
When would The Morning Show season 4 come out?
As I mentioned above, a good chunk of the film and television industry is on strike right now. Even if the Morning Show writers turned their season 4 scripts in at 11:59 p.m. the day before the WGA strike began (a real thing that a lot of writer's rooms did), they can't shoot the episode without the actors. We're all in a holding pattern, waiting for producers to meet the demands of the people who make the shows and movies we love.
That said, fans of The Morning Show are used to waiting. Have you noticed that the show has only had new seasons in odd-numbered years? Season 1 was 2019, Season 2 was 2021, and now we have Season 3 in 2023. If it takes until 2025 for The Morning Show season 4 to drop on Apple, that will just feel normal. Stay strong!
