Morgan Freeman Is Reportedly in Advanced Talks to Star in 'Lucy' Spinoff Series

It looks as if Morgan Freeman is in talks with EuropaCorp and Village Roadshow to be a part of the Lucy spinoff series. The series is based on the 2014 hit action film starring Scarlett Johansson.

Variety reported that the two companies are partnering with one another to develop and produce the spinoff series and are currently in advanced negotiations with Morgan Freeman to star in the series. Additional plot details have currently not been revealed.

The film starring Johannson was directed by Luc Besson and earned over $460 million USD worldwide at the box office. The film's success made it the highest-grossing French-produced film ever. Freeman was a part of the cast and is said to reprise his role as Professor Norman for the spinoff series. EuropaCorp was founded by Besson and since it completed its restructuring with its parent company Vine Alternative Investments, they have been set to pursue new films and series projects, building on well-known franchises.

There is no word on if Johansson will appear and who else will be casted.
