Morgan Fairchild has been lighting up the screen since the early '70s in TV shows and movies, weaving her way in and out of some of the most scandalous storylines across iconic soap operas decade after decade. In recent years, however, she's pivoted from daytime dramas (though she still makes appearances on beloved soaps such as General Hospital) and begun adding feel-good TV movies to her repertoire.
One of Fairchild's recent roles, in the delightful 2018 rom-com My Perfect Romance, is coming to millions of new fans when it airs on UPtv Sunday, January 28 at 7 p.m. EST. And we have all the insider information here — including an exclusive clip!

Why My Perfect Romance is a must-watch
The heartwarming film (see the full trailer here), based on the Harlequin novel Fortune's Perfect Valentine by Stella Bagwell, follows Wes Robinson (played by dreamboat Christopher Russell), the CEO his family's company, Robinson Tech. When the company launches a new dating service, Wes and tech developer Vivian (Kimberly-Sue Murray), are challenged on live TV to put the algorithm to the test — and the results aren't what they expected. While Russell and Murray lead this love story, Fairchild shines like always in her role as Wes' mother.

1. Search for Tomorrow (1973 - 1977)
Morgan Fairchild established herself in the daytime soap Search for Tomorrow as Jennifer Pace, a somewhat sinister beauty who some may remember famously taking a fall through a glass door in the midst of a psychotic break. The scene marked an iconic moment in soap history and showcased Fairchild's flair for the dramatic.
2. Flamingo Road (1980 - 1982)
Morgan Fairchild’s part as Constance Weldon Carlyle in the soap Flamingo Road was her breakout role. The series chronicled the lives of a wealthy family in the fictional town of Truro, Florida. The patriarch, Claude Weldon (Kevin McCarthy), who owned the local paper mill, and Fairchild played the role of his spoiled daughter.
As Fairchild said in an interview with Texas Monthly, “Constance was always flouncing around having a hissy fit about something.”
3. Paper Dolls (1984)
Morgan Fairchild took on yet another soap opera role in Paper Dolls, where she starred as Racine, the owner of a modeling agency who watches the careers of her two most promising young cover girls, played by Nicollette Sheridan and Terry Farrell.
4. Falcon Crest (1985 - 1986)
Falcon Crest brought Fairchild yet another soap-star role, as she played Jordan Roberts, a ruthless lawyer who, as a result of the abuse she endured as a child, sometimes embodied an alternate personality known as Monica.
5. The City (1995 - 1996)
The City came in the wake of another soap opera, Loving, that concluded when the residents of a Pennsylvania town were faced with a serial killer. From there, those who fled the town moved to an apartment building in New York's SoHo — enter, The City.
In The City, Morgan Fairchild starred as Sydney Chase, a woman whose media-giant husband left her his empire, allowing her to once again personify a strong female character with conviction.
“She’s not one-dimensional, and she’s not pampered by men, which is what characterized all the '80s b-- roles,” Fairchild said of her character in a 1996 interview with Texas Monthly. “This character has worked hard and she’s smart and, while she’s maybe not the warmest person on television, she’s got a vulnerable side to her that I think is important.”
6. Friends (1995 - 2001)
While not one of her most demanding roles, Morgan Fairchild's part on Friends as Chandler Bing's ( mother was iconic in its own right. On an episode of the podcast Behind the Velvet Rope, Fairchild looked back on her time on the show fondly.
"Several people said, 'You're too young to play that guy's mother, and you shouldn't do that,'" she recalled on the podcast. "And I said, 'I gotta make that transition at some point, you know, I might as well. And I think the show has potential."

Of course, she was right about the show's potential. "[Ordinarily] if you're the guest star, you don't get great lines, you get great setups for the stars," she further recalled. "But with Friends, they wrote great lines for the guest stars too, and so it was always fun to do. [You] always knew you'd have something good to say and fun to do, and the kids were fun and smart."
With the sudden death of Matthew Perry earlier this year, Fairchild took to Twitter to share her condolences and fond memories of working with the actor, saying "I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my 'son', Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew."
7. Fashion House (2006)
Morgan Fairchild starred alongside Bo Derek in the nighttime soap opera Fashion House. Derek starred as fashion mogul Maria Gianni and Fairchild took on the role of her longtime rival, Sophia Blakely.

8. Ladies of the '80s: A Diva Christmas (2023)
Ladies of the '80s: A Diva Christmas reunited Fairchild with fellow '80s TV stars Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati), Donna Mills (Knots Landing), Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing) and Linda Gray (Dallas) in a spectacular Lifetime channel Christmas crossover.
These dazzling stars came together as a group of soap veterans who join forces to film the final, Christmas-themed episode of their long-running soap, The Great Lakes. However, longstanding feuds and drama come to the surface, and the young show runner and director must attempt to control their antics. When the actresses finally manage to put their differences aside, they find a new common ground as matchmakers for the young pair.
The movie was a great time for the actresses onscreen and off, "It was a party, honey," Morgan Fairchild told Fox News. "As soon as Larry [Thompson] called, the producer, and said, 'I've got this idea and here's what I'm thinking of doing,' and I said, 'Boy, if you can get them, I'm on board.' You know, before you see the script or anything. It's a great idea. It's a fun group. And I'm here."
