The hilarious ensemble cast of the No. 1 broadcast premiere will back for season 2.

Judgement for the reboot! After airing just four episodes of the new Night Court—what producers are calling a new-boot—NBC renewed the series for season 2.

Night Court came out of the gate strong reaching 25.7 million viewers across all platforms in its first four weeks on the air.

As the No. 1 comedy premiere of the 2022-23 season on broadcast or cable, Night Court has the highest total viewers for any comedy premiere since The Connors in 2018 and the best comedy premiere on NBC since Will & Grace in 2017.

“It’s so rewarding to have audiences respond and return to a show in which they have such incredibly warm feelings, and, more broadly, it’s testament to how broadcast is still a huge driver of communal viewing,” Lisa Katz, president, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said in a release. “A huge thank you to our studio partners, a wonderful cast, incredibly talented writers and producers, and a crew that has transformed a lower Manhattan courtroom into a true family.”

The new series is a restart of the classic series that ran on NBC from 1984-1992. The original sitcom was centered around the night shift at a Manhattan courthouse and the wacky characters that came through the system.

The 2023 version features unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone (Harry Anderson), as she follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette).

Here's everything to know about Night Court Season 2.

Is the Night Court reboot coming back for season 2?

Yes! NBC renewed the reboot of the classic sitcom Night Court on Feb. 2, 2023.

Will John Larroquette be back for Night Court season 2?

That's a good question! Larrouqette initially said no to joining the reboot—and the grueling pace of TV, but executive producer and co-star Melissa Rauch ultimately convinced him to say yes. He told Parade in January that it was "an interesting idea to revisit a character 35 years later in his life and see what happened to him.” At 75, he might not be up for another season of TV or might return in a limited role. Only time will tell.

Will Richard Moll be in season 2 of the new Night Court?

Richard Moll has not been confirmed to return for the Night Court reboot. Moll played beloved bailiff Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon in the original series.

Will Marsha Warfield be in season 2 of the new Night Court?

No word yet on new cast or guest stars for season 2 of Night Court. Marsha Warfield played bailiff Rosalind "Roz" Russell from 1986 until the series ended. She and Moll are sadly among the few original cast still living. Seeing her and Bull back in the courtroom even as guest would be a great nostalgic throwback.
