More Than 4,000 Pounds Of Pork Sausages Are Being Recalled Over Fears Of Rubber Contamination
Bob Evans has announced a recall of more than 4,000 pounds of pork sausages over concerns they contain bits of "extraneous materials."
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service's announcement about the recall, the company is specifically recalling 4,200 pounds of Bob Evans raw Italian Sausage, as Bob Evans fears the product could contain thin blue rubber. Bob Evans told FSIS it had received consumer complaints about the product, which was created on December 17.
The items involved in the recall are one-pound chubs containing “Bob Evans Italian Sausage” with lot code 0352 and a “USE/FRZ BY” date of “JAN 31 21” on the label. The products also have the establishment number “EST. 6785” printed directly above their “USE/FRZ BY” date. These affected sausages were shipped to retail locations in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Only sausages with those specific codes are involved in the recall. FSIS is concerned that people may still have these recalled sausages in their refrigerators and/or freezers. If you have the affected product, you are urged not to eat it, but to instead throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
