Moorestown Mall gains coffee shop, bakery and new restaurant

MOORESTOWN – Coffee, cupcakes, lobster tails, steak.

The Moorestown Mall has welcomed more than a dozen new businesses recently, including three food-related businesses, and more is to come.

Ryfe Bar & Restaurant opened in March in the location once occupied by Hash House A Go-Go, Palms Coffee Club opened on May 3, and Dessert Soiree will have a soft opening Memorial Day Weekend.

Dessert Soiree

Dessert Soiree is a Black-owned bakery with a focus on cakes and cupcakes.

Owner Ivory Edwards previously had a brick-and-mortar shop in Sicklerville, but is happy to have secured a location inside the Moorestown Mall.

“I chose Moorestown Mall because I believe it has great potential they work well with small businesses and it seems to be great new shops coming in,” she said. “This also centers me with my clientele that’s in both Camden County and Burlington County.

“I will be specializing in cupcakes, cake decorating classes and custom cakes.”

What's new at the mall? Moorestown’s first liquor store not only new offering at mall; what else is there?

Some of her “fan favorites” include lemon cake, strawberry shortcake and pound cake. The first two come in cupcake or regular cake form.

Her website touts cinnamon bun cupcakes, banana pudding cupcakes, S’mores cupcakes, chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and more.

Dessert Soiree is located in between Victoria's Secret and the Sunglass Hut.

Palms Coffee Club

Palms Coffee Club opened on May 3. The mall website says it has “unique coffee flavors from around the world.”

The shop offers coffee, tea and a “light” foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Those foods include sandwiches, including meatball and provolone, chicken strip, chicken salad, club, tuna salad, egg salad, as well as salads, bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, croissants and more. Cheesecake, chocolate cake and other pastries are available for dessert.

Specialty coffees such as cappuccinos, lattes, espressos as well as drip coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate are on the menu.

Ryfe Bar & Restaurant

Ryfe Bar & Restaurant owner John Murphy, a Moorestown resident, had wanted to open a restaurant at the mall for a while.

The Moorestown location is Murphy's second Ryfe Bar & Restaurant, with the first being in Atlantic City. The mall location, at 400 Route 38, space 1375, had its grand opening on March 14.

The new restaurant has several lounge areas in addition to the dining areas, which includes a private dining area.

They have wings, nachos, burgers, fries, tacos, sandwiches, sliders, flatbread, and cheesesteaks or bar food for more casual dining. The dinner menu has more “elevated things,” he added, including a 14-ounce lobster tail, a 20-ounce bone in ribeye or a 18-ounce bone in pork chop. They also offer lobster fried rice, calamari, salads, pasta, fajitas, salmon, crab cakes, mussels, a seafood boil and more.

“The dinner menu, whether it’s date night, Valentine’s Day, whatever it is, they’re our top, really good dishes you can find there in addition to the more common bar type food that we also offer,” Murphy told the Courier Post previously.
