'Moon Knight' Director Mohamed Diab Says “Oscar-Worthy” Scene Was Cut From Season Finale

Director Mohamed Diab of the Oscar-winning series Moon Knight revealed in a recent interview that his favorite scene from the season finale was ultimately cut. Based on the Marvel comic of the same name, Moon Knight was created by Jeremy Slater for Disney+. The show stars Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder who becomes the avatar for an Egyptian god named Khonshu.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Diab first shared his experience of working with Isaac, saying that he’s “always great” and referring to him as “a genius actor.”

“The irony is that my favorite scene of his got cut,” Diab continued. “It was in episode six. As great as everything else was, he actually topped it with something even better. He confronted his mom in a white void, and he was going back and forth between Marc and Steven.”

“And oh my god. That scene by itself is an Oscar-worthy performance. Hopefully, Marvel releases that scene one day because Oscar was a genius.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Diab said that if he could work on any other Marvel project, he would choose to adapt the Moon Knight series into a film.

Moon Knight is available for streaming on Disney+.
