Montana Ski Resort Making Progress On Installing Lift Purchased From Alta

Red Lodge Mountain, Montana, is making progress on installing a new chairlift this summer.

The project will upgrade the Miami Beach chair from a two-seater to a high-speed triple.

Check out the resort's recent Facebook upload, which showcases new foundations for the improved Miami Beach chair's top terminal.

The new chair Red Lodge is replacing the Miami Beach double with is a Garaventa CTEC high-speed triple that initially lived at Alta, Utah. There, the chair was known as the Sunnyside Lift and started serving skiers in 1973.

Red Lodge purchased the triple in the summer of 2022 and began the process of replacing the Miami Beach chair in the spring of this year.

The upgraded Miami Beach chair will continue to serve beginner terrain on the lower portion of Red Lodge. It will open to skiers during winter 2023-2024 if construction efforts remain on track.
