Monsta X and Sebastian Yatra Release “Magnetic” Music Video

"Magnetic" is a truly international pop hit.

Monsta X are making their first incursion into Latin pop with their brand new track, “Magnetic.”

The K-pop group has teamed up with Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra on a new, well, magnetic song, which officially releases today, December 19.

After sharing small teasers to their social media earlier this week, the extremely catchy track is finally here. A fusion of Monsta X and Yatra’s styles, “Magnetic” mixes Latin rhythms with the group’s characteristic cadence, all through a very international pop scope.

In the song’s main two verses, Yatra sings in Spanish. But don’t expect to hear the members of Monsta X singing in Korean this time around. For the majority of the track the group sings in English, but the rap bridge does feature some impressive Spanish rap bars (well, Spanglish).

“Magnetic” marks the sixth release from the band to feature all-English lyrics, which, per a press email, is an effort to further cement the group’s “exploding presence” in the U.S. As a matter of fact, Monsta X are gearing up for the release of their new album All About Love next year, which will be entirely in English.

"We are super excited for the release of "Magnetic",” Monsta X told Teen Vogue exclusively. “This connection and song are very special to us, and symbolizes the future of global music. We are very proud of it!"

Alongside the single, Monsta X and Yatra also unveiled a very artsy video. Mirroring the vibrant vibes of the song to perfection, the accompanying music video features origami versions of the South Korean group and Yatra himself and takes on us a trip around the world — quite literally.
