Monarch Mountain, CO Extends Ski Season Again With Affordable Lift Tickets

Monarch Mountain, Colorado, is extending its operating season (again!) and—drum roll, please—offering discounted lift tickets for the last week of skiing.

The resort now plans to close on April 21st.

In its Instagram post, Monarch noted that the decision to offer another week of skiing stemmed from recent heavy snowfall. The resort saw nearly six feet of snow in March.

Monarch Mountain's first extension—until April 14th—was announced last month as a storm rolled through Colorado.

After the storm arrived, the mountain faced a temporary closure due to blizzard conditions. While resort closures are always a bummer, the new snow clearly set Monarch Mountain up nicely—worth it!

Speaking of nice, discounted tickets for the amended final week (April 15th through April 21st) are priced at $64 for adults, $54 for teens, $44 for juniors, and $54 for seniors.

Monarch Mountain uses a dynamic pricing model adopted by several other resorts, so there isn't a fixed percentage on the discount, but tickets for the final weekend are cheaper than, say, today, when an adult ticket cost $74. Adult tickets cost $89 next Saturday at the time of writing this.

Regardless, this is Colorado we're talking about. Anything cheaper than $100 is a screaming deal.

And you know what mixes well with lift ticket deals? Spring skiing. If you're around, go make some turns.
