Moms designing for moms - The sisters of Briton Court offer modern style for moms and daughters

The bright, fun styles of Briton Court exist because sisters Stephe Ebert, Kristina Teague and Jenny Hall decided to create a capsule collection of mom and daughter designs. It was to be something small – a line for Teague’s and Hall’s retail locations, Vann & Liv and Harrington’s, respectively. But when a social media influencer posted about them, requests poured in. For the sisters, it’s all about family – from the creation of the designs to when customers wear them.

The three share much of their lives together. All three have daughters but none of their daughters have a sister, so the bond runs between all three households in so many ways.

“I think we have a very rare relationship, because we are so close,” Ebert said. “Everyone's like, ‘how do you get along with your sisters that well, do you not argue all the time and fight all the time?’ And we definitely all have our own opinions, but we are very open to what each other has to say. I feel like we all have different strengths in our business. We go to each other for advice for certain topics. We just listen and most the time understand and know that they probably have the right idea. We are very lucky.”

The dresses that captivate moms and daughters are designed to be modern, fun and part of family memories.

“We still have Sunday dinner at my parents’ house, all of us every single Sunday,” Ebert said. “We're always together. The mommy and me – it was really hard to find in the marketplace. When little girls see it, they love it and they see the mom’s matching dress, they’re like, ‘Mommy, you can match me!’ When I think of our upbringing, I think of going to dinner, maybe at the beach with our entire family. That's the kind of dress I want to wear to dinner with my family or to fun events where you're surrounded by the people that you love. That was just a little bit of inspiration behind it. The mommy and me matching was hard to find out there and it is meant to bring more experiences between mommy and daughter.”

As moms, the three know someone is always watching what they do.

“Our daughters see all of us go to work every day, and we're inspired, we are passionate about what we do,” Ebert said. “I think eventually, we would love for them to be in all of the businesses, and they probably will sooner than later. But I just think it's always a good example, even in business, there's always going to be something that comes that’s tough. And we just remind them this is temporary. It's going to get better, whatever the problem might be. Just keep moving forward.”

Teague agreed.

“I think that it's important to show our children a good work ethic, and that there will be hurdles and nothing in life comes super easy. But if you work hard, it pays off,” she said.
