Mommy Shamers Just Came For Khloé Kardashian, but She Had the Last Word

Khloé Kardashian faced her online mommy shamers head-on this weekend. Entertainment Tonight reports that on Sunday night (July 29), the reality-TV star went to a charity poker event meant to benefit the comprehensive cancer center City of Hope. For some reason, this riled up people on social media, who were fixated on the fact that Kardashian left her daughter at home with Tristan Thompson, a.k.a. True's father. But Kardashian didn't let the shaming get very far: She quickly took to Twitter with a call-out post for her unsolicited critics.

"Mommy shamers r at a high right now," she wrote. "I’m sick, at a charity event & I’m getting slack 4being here bc I have a baby? Her dad is watching her while I’m trying 2bring awareness 2an amazing organization. But either way, what’s wrong w a new mom letting daddy take over 4a few hours?"

This should go without saying, but Kardashian has every right to leave the house without True—for work, for fun, for whatever—especially if Thompson's manning the parenting duties while she's out. Thompson watching True while Kardashian's at a charity event isn't "babysitting" or "giving mom a day off." He's doing his job. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous and sexist.

Of course, this isn't the first time Kardashian's had to fend off haters on Twitter. In June she opened up about supplementing breastfeeding with formula and the stigma associated with that. "Mommy shaming is real! But the truth is I’ve tried and tried and tried to breastfeed only and it wasn’t working for me," she wrote. "I feel fortunate that I am able to still breastfeed but with the help of formula. Breastfeeding is something I really wanted to do. Just am not fully able."
