Moment Tiny Puppy Hilariously Blocks the Doorway For Hesitant Giant Dogs Is a Gift to Watch

If you've spent enough time around dogs, you know that it's often the tiniest pups with the biggest personalities. Chihuahuas are the perfect example! These ankle-biters will never hesitate to let you know when they're not happy, even if it means getting in your face or pushing a boundary. It's no wonder why they're one of the most stubborn dog breeds out there.

But the truth is, just about any puppy can turn into a little diva when given the princess treatment. Just look at Lily! This tiny mixed-breed rescue puppy from PAWS Austin can't be more than a few weeks old, but she already knows that she's the boss in her foster home. She may have a deformed leg and a heart murmur, but this tiny gal has no issue bossing around her gigantic foster siblings. It's absolutely precious to see!

On Februay 11, little Lily blocked the door from her doggie friends, and the huge dogs had no idea what to do. They know Lily runs their house, too, and they couldn't risk upsetting the boss!

Aww! I couldn't even see Lily on the floor at first, but there she is-- barely taller than her siblings' paws. She has to be one of the tiniest puppies I've ever seen, and I have a feeling that her doggie friends feel the same way.

As commenter @the_taskmanager mentioned, "They didn't want to squish the little baby." How considerate! It definitely seemed like they were hesitant to step anywhere near her, but the rescue puppy's big reaction to the Great Dane stepping one paw indoors had me laughing out loud. She looked back at her rescuer, Prima, like, 'Did you see that?' It was just too cute!

Can Tiny Puppies Stay Safe Around Large Dogs?

It's understandable why these large dogs may have been nervous to move too much around the tiny rescue pup. I would be, too! It's easy to get underfoot when you're as small as Lily, and she may not be aware of all the dangers around her at such a young age. Luckily, her big siblings are as intuitive and gentler as can be!

In fact, many dogs are naturally gentle around babies and children--regardless of their species. This is because dogs are incredibly instinctual and sensory, and they can pick up on a number of signals (including smells) that help them realize the being they're with is young. How cool!

Lily is lucky to be surrounded by so many gentle souls, including her canine siblings and her rescuer. She's receiving ongoing treatment for her leg deformity and heart murmur, and she has so many new friends cheering her on!
