Moment Rescue Dog Lets Her Guard Down and Trusts Foster Mom Is So Powerful

There are so many beautiful moments throughout a pet's rescue that are worth sharing, but some of our favorites are also some of the most subtle. After all, an animal doesn't learn to trust overnight! It takes time for any pet to adjust to a new place- whether a foster home or a forever home- and even longer to trust new people.

It truly touched our hearts to see this precious moment that foster mama @kateraxo shared with her adorable Goldendoodle, Murphy. The poor pup had been saved from 'Iowa's largest puppy mill' alongside 75 other pets, but she's finally learning that she can relax somewhere safe.

This is priceless! It moves us to tears to see the ways Katera's love and patience is changing Murphy's world. She still has a long way to go before she feels like the happy girl she's always meant to be, but this looks like she's off to a great start.

Canine experts encourage pet owners to learn about the 3-3-3 rule when it comes to helping a new pet adjust. It can take three days for an animal to feel safe--which Murphy is starting to do--, and it can take up to three weeks for a pet to start picking up on routines. By three months, though, you can expect your fur baby to start feeling at home.

"I’m so happy she is starting to feel safe and most of all LOVE," wrote commenter @mszombully. You're certainly not alone! Many viewers expressed their gratitude for Katera's dedication to this Goldendoodle dog, and some even suggested that there's a foster fail in the making.

For example, @morganloewenhertz said, "This is too perfect. You two are meant to love one another forever. Murphy has stolen all our hearts." She certainly has! This rescue dog already seems like the sweetest girl, and we know whoever she ends up with is going to be so lucky.
