Moment Little Dog Recognizes Mom After 2 Months Apart Is Too Moving

The crises in Ukraine have displaced many people and pets, but there are still heartwarming animal stories to find within these troubling times. If you ask us, @zalis_vic's reunion with her pup after 2 months apart is one of those stories! The little dog had to stay in Poland until a volunteer could bring him to the USA, but now he's safe and sound alongside his human mom.

As one would imagine, the moment they saw each other again was nothing short of magical. Take a look!

Aww! This is so touching to witness, but we can only imagine how relieved and overjoyed this dog mama felt when she finally held her fur baby again. Clearly--the pup couldn't be more thrilled! He was so happy that a tail wag just wouldn't do--his whole body wiggled in excitement as he covered his owner in kisses.

"I literally never want to leave my pet again after this," commented @mikaylaann98. We know exactly what you mean! It's easy to take the time we have with our pets for granted, though moments like this one can help put things in perspective.

Many Ukrainian and Polish pet parents are relying on the kindness of volunteers, animal welfare organizations, and even generous strangers to bring their animals somewhere safe. As it turns out, commenter @fanessaman is one of those kind people.

She writes, "I was a volunteer on the Polish-Ukraine border and adopted an old dog left at the refugee camp (named her Babushka). I wish I could let the previous owners know she’s okay and living her best life." What a generous thing to do! It's magical to give a pet the happy ending they deserve, but to save them from a war zone is even more miraculous.
