Moment Former Feral Cat Overcomes a Longtime Fear Is So Inspiring

Getting a pet also means getting an endless amount of toys. We can't help ourselves! Somehow we gravitate toward the pet aisle every time we're in Target and since we have no self-control, we buy another new thing. But, surprisingly, our pets don't love every item we buy.

A similar thing happened to TikTok user @nala_meets_world and their rescue cat named Nala. This TikToker thought Nala would've loved her own little covered bed, but for two years, she refused to go near it. That is until the family's new kitten showed Nala there is nothing to be afraid of. Take a look!

Aww! Our hearts truly just skipped a beat. We're so proud of Nala for overcoming her fear. We don't know how or what made her scared of it in the first place, but then again, we can't even imagine what she's experienced while living as a feral cat.

"So happy for her because most cats love cozy spots like that and she’s been missing out. So exciting for the whole family!" wrote @zucchero.nube. Right?! Now that she's had a taste of the good and comfy life, we have a feeling she'll be in that pineapple bed constantly.

Having a rescue cat adapt to a life indoors isn't always a walk in the park. Just as we saw in this video, it took Nala two years to get comfortable with a bed. The owner was doing everything right, it just takes a ton of time and patience. If you do rescue a feral cat, be sure to follow the basics to keep them happy as an indoor cat. Change the litter box often and give them clean water and good food. Cats love comfort, so a comfy bed of their own and pillows or blankets will work. Tons of toys and a scratch pole would be nice too. Above all, give them all the chin scratches, pets, and love you have.
