Moment Abused Horse Finally Starts to Trust His Rescuer Brings All the Feels

As many people know, learning to trust someone after they've hurt you can take a lot of time. So we can only imagine how much patience and work it takes to help an animal heal when people have hurt them. It's understandable why they'd be fearful and distrusting of everyone until someone shows them enough love and kindness.

For rescue horse Colby, that person is his owner, Ally. The two have worked hard to build a strong bond since he's come to live with her, and he's made unbelievable progress. The work they've done together inspired Ally to start her own animal rescue in Virginia in 2021 with the help of her wife, who runs their TikTok account, @ohkaytacos. She even named her nonprofit Colby's Crew Rescue in honor of her special horse!

Wow! The bond Ally and Colby have is inspiring. The difference between the first clip and the last clip of the video is undeniable, and the changes all happened thanks to Ally's love and dedication. This chestnut horse started out scared and defensive, but now he's living his best life!

It's no wonder why commenters like @marlarodolfo0 are so emotional over this sweet story. She wrote, "Every time I hear his story, it absolutely gives me chills and brings a mix of sad and happy tears. Love you ladies and what you and your team do." We couldn't have said it better ourselves! There are so many loving horses like Colby who are mistreated or on track for slaughter, and Ally is a hero for doing what she can to save them. She helps horses heal in so many ways!

It's so special to look back and see the first moment Colby started to trust his new owner. The abused horse had every reason to be frightened, but she helped him learn that not every person is bad. In fact, he'll never be hurt by a human again!
