Moment Abandoned Rescue Bird Finally Starts Realizing He's Safe Is So Magical
Just like any rescue animal, Sprout the green parakeet needed some time to adjust to life in his new home. The kind woman at @the_green_bird_brigade stepped up when someone found the poor bird abandoned in a tiny cage, and even though he was showered with love immediately, it took weeks before he truly came out of his shell.
Now, though, he's enjoying life as a regular bird with all the food, toys, and friends he could ever want. His story may have had its obstacles, but it brought tears to our eyes to see his epic transformation!

Sprout seems like the sweetest bird! It absolutely melted our hearts to see how much this parakeet wanted company as soon as he was rescued. Clearly, he is oh-so-loving! We're sure it was difficult for his rescuer to adjust to constant time together, too, but it looks like they both made the best of the situation.
"How do people do this?" asked @em.jk99. "Thank god for the person who messaged you. My birds are my everything, they get everything." That's totally how it should be! Relief doesn't even begin to describe the feeling when we learned that someone had found Sprout abandoned... but also so much anger! Fortunately, we know there are kindhearted people like this bird rescuer out there.
For anyone who's interested in rescuing birds themselves, getting started might be easier than you think. This parakeet's owner told a commenter that she began by rescuing birds who appeared to be in poor condition from ads on Craigslist. Clearly, she was very successful, and now multiple birds have a happy, loving home!
