If there's anyone who knows how to put old things to new and stylish use, it's our inspiring DIY aficionado, Anh Lin (@girlandtheword). This time, she's showing us how to transform those outdated tablecloths into charming, chic DIY fringe garland décor.

Genius, isn't it? Let's dive right in!

To get started, grab an old tablecloth, string, stapler, tape, and scissors. Use the stapler and string to create a design, then cut the fringes with the scissors. Easy peasy DIY!

Start by taping your string to the floor. This string will act as your guide and hold the fringe garland once completed. Next, lay your tablecloth half under the string. It's essential to ensure your tablecloth is spread out evenly.

Now, fold the other half of your tablecloth over the string. Make sure the string is sitting snugly in the fold. This is the backbone of our fringe garland.

It's essential to secure your folded tablecloth well. Staple it closed, placing staples about 6 inches apart along the length of the string. Now, fold the bottom of the tablecloth up towards the string, not once but twice! This step creates more volume and depth in your garland.

Lastly, use your trusty scissors to cut the folded tablecloth into 1 to 2-inch strips, creating your beautiful fringe. This step lets you unleash your creativity—cut curves, angles, or whatever suits your fancy. The world is yours!

And voila! Your unique, homemade fringe garland, courtesy of a humble old tablecloth, is ready to jazz up your home décor. Remember, there's no right or wrong way to do this—only your way. That’s the spirit of DIY.

What’s next? Drape it over a doorway, along a staircase, or use it to transform your mantle. Your fringe garland will be sure to add some DIY flair wherever it hangs.
