This Moisturizer Is a Must-Have for Irritated Skin

Let’s Just Get to the Point:

With a blend of both
hydrating and exfoliating ingredients, Pharmaskincare Multi-Gly Skin Relief Cream ($60) does the job of a standard moisturizer, but also takes
it one step further, adding hydrocortisone to help soothe irritated and itchy
skin.

Key Ingredients: Glycolic acid, vitamins, coQ10 and hydrocortisone

If You Want to Know More:

A breakout, an overly aggressive
new skin care product, a strange allergic reaction—these are just a few of the
things that can leave skin itchy, red, and looking and feeling less than
pretty. In these cases, hydrocortisone is the go-to, dermatologist-recommended
ingredient, but most over-the-counter cortisone creams don’t necessarily feel
the greatest on your face. Enter the Pharmaskincare Multi-Gly Skin Relief Cream, an effective moisturizer that just happens
to contain hydrocortisone, too.

First, the moisturizing
part: A line-up of hydrating ingredients—glycerin, coQ10 and sunflower seed oil—give
this it’s thick and creamy texture. (Though despite the rich consistency, it still
absorbs instantly with a nonsticky finish.) There’s also glycolic acid to
gently exfoliate and keep skin healthy and glowy. Yes, please. A blend of
organic extracts—lavender and chamomile—give it a clean and fresh scent. All of
this would be reason enough to use it as a moisturizer, but the addition of
calming hydrocortisone makes it ideal for any kind of skin irritation.

As the queen of sensitive
skin, I’m constantly dealing with some kind of rouge rash or redness. While
cortisone cream does the job, I don’t love how it feels on my face, and
requires using a nonirritating moisturizer on top. This formula is a one-stop-shop.
I dabbed it on some red bumpy patches that had cropped up around my nose, and
it almost instantly made my skin both look and feel better. And while it’s
obviously great for the face, I’ve also used it on my body (the backs of my
knees during a recent eczema flare) with equally great results. Because it does
contain 1 percent hydrocortisone, it’s best not to use this as your daily
moisturizer, but for times when your skin needs a little extra soothing, this
can’t be beat.
