Model Hari Nef Just Live-Tweeted Her Tracheal Shave

Hari Nef — the model, activist, and actress known largely from her role as Gittel on Transparent and for being the first transgender woman signed to IMG Worldwide — likes keeping the world up-to-date on her various moves through Twitter. That has included her online shopping habits, her emotional triggers, her food-shopping excursions, and on Thursday, her tracheal shave.

The delicate surgery — clinically called a chondrolaryngoplasty — is often part of the gender-reassignment feminization surgery process and involves removal of the prominent thyroid cartilage, or Adam’s apple, while under general aesthetic. The scar generally disappears after about a year.
