Moda Operandi Partners With By Malene Birger on Exclusive Six-piece Capsule for Fall 2023

Moda Operandi has partnered with By Malene Birger on an exclusive six-piece capsule for fall 2023, available on Monday.
The capsule is available in shades of camel, caramel and khaki, and features a mix of plush faux fur, supple leather, organic cotton, recycled polyester, viscose and mohair. The majority of pieces come in natural fibers and monofiber compositions.

“Our capsule with Moda Operandi was inspired in part by its perennially stylish cofounder, Lauren Santo Domingo. After Lauren wore our long-line, faux-fur Kavela coat at New York Fashion Week [last February], it quickly became a bestseller for the fall 2023 season, and a favorite with taste makers all over the world. Its success served as the starting point of this collection…with an exclusive, hip-length edition of the Kavela coat leading a lineup of tactile winter staples,” said Maja Dixdotter, creative director of By Malene Birger.
Santo Domingo, chief brand officer of Moda Operandi, added, “There are some garments that have a certain magnetism, and By Malene Birger’s faux-fur coat from last year was one of them. I wore it on a snowy day at NYFW and our social team never received so many ‘How do I buy this?’ requests. We are thrilled to launch an exclusive capsule with the brand for this winter season, featuring a cropped version of that now Insta-famous jacket alongside chicly understated wardrobing heroes the Scandi brand is known for.”
In addition to the cropped version of the Kavela coat in plush faux fur with a high neck and gently flared fit, is the Beatrisse leather biker, a staple for several seasons, with a feminine collar, contrast stitching and zip-arm details, revisited in updated moss green. There is also the Derris shirt, an oversized style with By Malene Birger’s signature swirl symbol, and the Cymbaria pants, a comfortable high-waist, wide-leg style that can be dressed up or down, both in khaki.
Rounding out the capsule is the Tinley cardigan made of mohair yarn, and the Brinah sweater dress in ribbed caramel mohair.
The By Malene Birger x Moda Operandi fall capsule will be available in selected stores, at bymalenebirger.com and at modaoperandi.com starting Monday.
