Season after season, Miuccia Prada sends a parade of coveted ensembles down the Miu Miu runway that pulls at heartstrings the world over. (Leopard lamé negligees or fuzzy, bow-embellished slippers, anyone?) And one look at her loyal front row in Paris proves that the designer’s muses offer up equally tantalizing beauty moves. Over the years, this select group of women has seamlessly mixed femininity with irreverent charm and spontaneous quirk, much like the house’s collections themselves.

Just look to Dakota Fanning, the director of one of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales, who arrived at last year’s show with an angelic turquoise cat-eyed flick—the perfect foil to sister Elle’s vampy merlot mouth. Earlier, the Fall 2014 runway found Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o complementing an icy lavender miniskirt with a swipe of matching lipstick and shadow at eye level for a winning monochromatic moment, while during the Spring 2016 collections, Léa Seydoux added a vibrant twist to her Old Hollywood curled bob with an extended tangerine manicure. And just last season, Chloë Sevigny topped off a bun with a black velvet bow and fuzzy flyaways.

Though movie stars and cover girls (many of whom took a turn on last season’s star-studded catwalk) are mainstays at Miu Miu, the 25-year-old fashion house also has a history of tapping international indie darlings and future It girls for its front row. At the Fall 2017 show, States of Undress reporter Hailey Gates turned heads with her signature waist-length waves and a mod pale pout, while a pop of pink lip pigment accented actress Stacy Martin’s alabaster complexion. An even more daring dose of color came courtesy of French singer-songwriter Soko who, the season prior, offset her signature jet-black chop with a sweep of burnt rose eyeshadow—proving once again that these sideliners know no beauty bounds.
