A paw-fect reunion!

Earlier this week, a dog owner was reunited with her lost pet Husky on her birthday after the canine was found more than 100 miles away.

Missy Landis' dog, named Hines, had been missing for over a week from Columbus, Ohio, before he was found in Toledo, Ohio, WTVG reported.

Per the outlet, Toledo resident Neveah Smith found Hines wandering her neighborhood without a collar on and brought him to the Toledo Humane Society Clinic, where an employee discovered he was microchipped and reached out to Landis to let her know her pet was safe.

“She was like, 'Well, I think I got your dog,’ and I’m like, 'Where at? I’m on my way,' " Landis told WTVG. "And she’s like, ‘We’re in Toledo.’ And I’m like, ‘How did my dog get in Toledo?' "

After learning about her dog's whereabouts, Landis made the two-hour drive to Toledo — where WTVG reported she had never visited before.

“It’s the best birthday present to get little Hines-y back,” she told the outlet. “You guys don’t know how much this means to us."

In a statement to WTVG, Dianna Nobles, a receptionist at the Toledo Humane Society Clinic, highlighted the importance of having pets microchipped.

“This is one of the main reasons we want to get everyone microchipped ... [to] be able to get pets back to their owner, should it run away or should someone take it. And in this case it was a beautiful, beautiful reunion,” she said.

Smith, meanwhile, was just as glad that she found Hines and could get him back to his owner. “I’m always nervous that they won’t [be microchipped] because not many people do it. But I’m so glad that he did,” she told WTVG.
