‘Missing Link’ Awarded with the 2020 Golden Globe for Best Animated Motion Picture

We finally have a winner in one of our favorite categories!

Tonight, the 77th annual Golden Globes took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, Missing Link won the award for Best Animated Film.

Other nominees for the award included Frozen 2, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, The Lion King and Toy Story 4. 

Frozen 2, Toy Story 4 and The Lion King received two nods this year, while How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and Missing Link only received one. 

Last year, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse walked away with the award for Best Motion Picture, Animated during the 76th annual Golden Globes ceremony. The movie beat out Incredibles 2Isle of DogsMirai and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

This award was presented for the first time at the 64th Golden Globe Awards in 2007. It was the first time that the Golden Globe Awards had created a separate category for animated films since its establishment. The Pixar film Cars was the first recipient of the award.
