Miss Natchitoches City of Lights Makenzie Scroggs crowned Miss Louisiana 2023

The 60th annual Miss Louisiana pageant came to a close on Saturday, June 17 and a new young woman was crowned and will head to Miss America later this year.

Miss Natchitoches City of Lights Makenzie Scroggs was crowned Miss Louisiana 2023 and will represent the state at the Miss America competition later this year.

  • 4th runner up Miss Bell of the D'Arbonne Anna Claire Lemoine

  • 3rd runner up Miss LA Watermelon Festival Jourdan Waddell

  • 2nd runner up Miss University of LA Monroe Leslie Hobgood

  • 1st runner up Miss Union Parish Olivia Grace George

Non finalist talent award winners: Miss Dixie Stockshow Kelly Cole and Miss Spirit of the Red Courtney Patterson. Cole sang a rendition of Someone Like You on night one of preliminaries while Patterson danced a lyrical contemporary routine to Ashes on night two.

Dancer Award: Miss LA Watermelon Festival Jourdan Waddell.

Waddell performed a jazz routine to Michael Jackson's Dangerous.

Instrumentalist Award: Miss LA Tech University Chanley Patterson

Patterson took home the Talent and Alpha Talent Awards for her rendition of Percy Faith's El Cubanchero on night two of the preliminaries.

Miss Congeniality: Miss South LA Bayou Demi Martin

Miss Louisiana Preliminaries Night 2: Find out who took home talent and evening wear awards at night two of Miss Louisiana

The Miss Louisiana Organization is part of the Miss America Organization, which is the number one provider of scholarships for women in the world. The state organization will award over $60,000 in cash scholarships this year and more than $300,000 in in-kind scholarships being made available.
