Misha Nonoo, One of Meghan Markle's Closest Friends, Is Engaged
Misha Nonoo is engaged to Michael Hess.
Nonoo is a longtime friend of Meghan Markle, and was even rumored to have set her up with Prince Harry.
After making their public debut as a couple at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding, fashion designer Misha Nonoo and millionaire entrepreneur Michael Hess are engaged.
Hess broke the news on Instagram, per the Daily Mail. (Sadly, his Instagram is private, but it seems the Daily Mail has a source among his approved followers.) The post featured a photo of the couple in Cabo San Lucas, with Hess down on one knee.
"Thank you for making all my dreams come true, Misha Nonoo," read the caption. "I am so in love with you, and I feel so lucky I get to spend the rest of my life with you right beside me." The Daily Mail added that Hess proposed during a Valentine's Day vacation. And while there's no high-quality image of the ring yet, the Mail has a distant shot of the "sizable" rock.
Nonoo is an accomplished designer, and was a finalist for the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award. But royal watchers will know her best for (allegedly) setting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle up on a blind date.
"We were introduced, actually, by a mutual friend," Prince Harry told the BBC soon after his and Meghan's engagement was announced. Meghan then jumped in, adding, "We should protect her privacy and not reveal too much of that." It's been speculated that the matchmaker was Nonoo-and as Nonoo and Meghan are buddies, and Nonoo's ex-husband Alexander Gilkes is close with Prince Harry, it's not a far-fetched idea. Still, no one involved has confirmed the rumor.
Regardless, Nonoo is clearly one of Meghan's treasured friends. During the Duchess's surprise trip to New York, Nonoo was among the lucky few invitees to Meghan's baby shower.
