Mirror Palais Channels a Soft Yet Sensual Vibe for SS24

Mirror Palais is returning to the runway with its Spring/Summer 2024 collection for New York Fashion Week as the Marcelo Gaia-led brand presented garments that were as flirtatious as they were glamorous.

Where

The fanciful show took place at the American Irish Association where its retro aesthetic served as the backdrop for the show, nodding to the brand's apparent love for nostalgia. Wooden walls, vintage paintings and chandeliers are all accessories any Mirror Palais girl wishes she could have in her apartment.

Who

The highly-coveted brand brought out the likes of Emily Ratajkowski as well as Karrueche, demonstrating Mirror Palais' deserved celebrity status.

Saw

Its SS24 collection is a masterful balance of vintage elegance and contemporary coquettishness. One model rocked a figure-flattering two-piece set, joining chokers, polka dots and larger-than-life hats, adding a type of femininity from a bygone era. Cindy Kimberly closed the show, solidifying a romantic tone wearing a magnificent white strapless gown, complete with an exaggerated tutu on the waist, which gave way to a flowing train.

Touch

The collection's arsenal of fabric includes frothy tulle, luxurious satin, alongside lace and velvet chokers.

Hear

While Cindy walked to The Flamingos "I Only Have Eyes For You," one model strutted to Lily Rose-Depp's "I'm A Freak," nodding to the scandalous drama, The Idol.

Taste

Mirror Palais continues to stay true to its deeply feminine aesthetic, but has decidedly dialed up the heat for SS24, delivering a collection full of juxtapositions, emphasizing that bows and frills can be sexy too. For those who missed out, Mirror Palais has also dropped a limited-edition collection to commemorate the show, exclusively available on Basic.Space.  The special release includes a baby-tee and hoodie for $50 USD and $100 USD, respectively.
